UFCでの2回目のタイトルマッチはBJペンが対戦相手でした。その大会の計量時の二人。
BJペンの引退発表は本当に残念ですが、彼のお陰でUFCやMMAが凄く有名になったことはとても感謝しています。
そして、彼と2回もUFCのオクタゴンで闘うことができたこと、その何年か後にハワイ島ヒロを訪れた時にお世話になった事、本当に感謝しています。
僕にとってBJペンはヒーローで心から尊敬する選手です。
そんな彼を友達と言えて僕は誇らしく思っています。
僕はあと少し選手として現役を続けますが、BJペンと戦った事でどんな相手でも戦っていけるという自信を今でも持てています。長い現役生活お疲れ様でした。そしてありがとうございました！」
